Final rites for Mrs. Eva Caroline
Mahan, age 82, a resident of near Cumberland were held Wednesday at the Hendryx
and Fields Mortuaries, Cumberland Chapel with the Rev. Morris Jackson
officiating. Interment was in Roachdale Cemetery. Mrs. Mahan died Sunday in the
Fountaintown Nursing Home where she had been a patient for two years. Mrs.
Mahan was the daughter of William and Rebecca McPheeters Armstrong. She had lived in the Cumberland community the
past seven years and held membership in the West 10th Street Baptist
Church. Surviving are the husband, David; four children, Mrs. Frances Whitaker
and Robert Mahan of Indianapolis, Mrs. Blanche Bennett of Cumberland and
Russell Mahan of Roachdale; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ida Putt of
Washington, Ill. - kbz
